Brief

Create a poster and suite of promotional designs for Universal Music’s 2024 company only event. It needs to reflect the vibrancy, excitement and energy of the event. The identity needs to live across everything from email invites to posters to in-venue branding.

Concept
–
The event’s concept revolves around people being the catalysts that bring something to life, whether it’s an event, company, or city; they’re the metaphorical light that shines through, adding energy and colour.
Main Poster
–
The poster shows a snippet of London’s cityscape in glass, empty vessels until light flows through them. The image is a celebration of the various lights that make up Universal UK.

Event Name
–
The name “Only U” refers to the event’s exclusivity, as it is only open to Universal employees. To capitalise on this fact, the logo only shows the letter ‘U’, obscuring the rest of the word “Universal” and serving as a redacted word, accessible only to those in the know.
Logo
–
The redacted box in the logo houses macro images and video from the glass cityscape scene, which help convey the campaign’s theme of colour and energy.
On-Stage Videos
–
These videos are used within the venue and can be placed behind the stage or projected onto various surfaces throughout the venue.
Venue Banners & Posters
The hanging banners use the logo with different macros in the redacted box whilst the posters take use 3D versions of the logo’s letters in refracted glass.
